Asian Handicap Betting Calculator
Asian Handicap is a type of football betting that has become quite popular in recent years. It originated in Indonesia in 1998 and was given the name Asian Handicap. The main attraction of this bet is that it reduces the possibility of three outcomes, home, draw or away to just two possibilities. A draw is eliminated - there must be a win for either the home or away team, with one exception explained below
Bookmakers offer a handicap for one of the teams to try and even out the game to make the outcome as close as possible (a more or less evens bet for each team). The handicap could be as little as a quarter goal and can go up to 2.5 or 3 goals.
If a whole number is used for the handicap, the adjusted final score could be a draw. But in this instance it is called a push and all stakes would be returned. Matches handicapped in 0.25 or 0.5 intervals cannot end in a draw or push.
